The company’s story :
 |
Maisonneuve and Company SA was created in March 1939 by Mr Camille MAISONNEUVE.
The first activity was the production of milk cans in tin steel.. Yet, some months after, the production had to be stopped because of the beginning of the war, as Mr Camille MAISONNEUVE had been mobilized as a fire-fighter in Paris during the whole war. |
|
In 1944, after the Liberation, the production was launched again but encountered many difficulties in getting steel. For that reason, a change happened in the type of raw material used, as the
aluminium was easier to find.
During the 50’s, Maisonneuve Company encountered a great development and the firm reached up to 100 employees to produce the milk cans.
 |
In December 1967, after his father’s death, Mr Luc Maisonneuve became the headmaster of the firm. As soon as he arrived, he shook up the production. |
|
Indeed, the use of tankers to collect the milk was more and more recurrent at the expense of the cans.
At the beginning, Maisonneuve used to produce little aluminium tankers with a capacity of 1,000 to 1,500 litres, which were flat and put on chassis.
|
 |
In the early 70’s, Maisonneuve abandoned the aluminium in order to produce tankers of 3,000 litres and 5,000 litres made of stainless steel with a pumping group.
During the year 1975, Maisonneuve made many changes in its equipment offer.
The road tankers capacity evolved to 7,000 – 9,000 and 11,000 litres and then Maisonneuve started the production of semi-trailers from 11,000 litres to 14,000 litres.
Besides, Maisonneuve was the first manufacturer to supply self-supporting trailers, which was a real success.
At the same time, Maisonneuve was trying to integrate foreign markets trough its first contacts with countries such as Algeria, Tunisia or Bulgaria…
Then began a great export adventure that would never stop.
Always at the same time, Maisonneuve launched its production of self-supporting semi-trailers, first for the milk collecting and food products, then for the chemical products and dangerous matters, some years later.
The firm which was working with dairy producer was also opening its offers to carriers.
Since that period, Maisonneuve has always tried to develop and diversify its productions.
